A 21-YEAR-old man was caught masturbating on the streets of Orford by a Ring Doorbell.
Billy Humphries could be seen with his trousers around his knees performing a sex act on the pavement.
He appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to exposure and attempted criminal damage.
Prosecuting, Valeriya Tomkinson said the offences happened at around 4am on September 28 this year.
Ms Tomkinson said that an Orford resident was woken by the sound of her dogs barking. When the resident checked their CCTV and Ring Doorbell, they saw a man, later identified as Humphries, kicking their front door open.
There was no damage to the front door, just a footprint was left.
But prior to Humphries doing this, the footage showed him with his pants down to his knees. He was masturbating on the street.
In a police interview, Humphries told officers he had been drinking in the town centre and he could not remember what had happened.
The court heard how when he was shown the CCTV footage of himself he was in ‘utter disbelief’ and asked ‘what am I doing there?’
Ms Tomkinson said that Humphries, of Westland Drive, Padgate, has five previous convictions.
Defending, Alex Dunn said that since the incident, his client has been receiving support for his alcohol dependency and drug misuse.
Mr Dunn explained that Humphries has taken steps to work on his issues and that he is ‘taking clear direction to try and improve his life and his position’.
“He is not a person who fits the character of these sort of offences,” Mr Dunn said.
“He is incredibly shocked and disturbed.
“He could not believe he had done such a thing.”
Humphries received a 12-month community order.
The magistrates ordered him to complete 26 sessions of a Building Better Choices programme and five rehabilitation requirement days.
He must also complete a six-month alcohol requirement order and must sign the sex offenders register.
