A MAN who was charged with causing the death of a 20-year-old by dangerous driving has pleaded guilty.
Mason Hodgson, of Glen Road in Leeds, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court this morning, Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was charged with causing the death of 20-year-old Sam Harding by dangerous driving on Kingsland Grange in 2022.
Hodgson first appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court in October, where it was alleged that he caused the death of Mr Harding by driving a black Audi S3 at a car meet on April 10, 2022.

Mr Harding, of Stockport, died as a result of injuries sustained following a collision between a car and a pedestrian which occurred at the car meet at 9.40pm.
He was known to be a promising footballer and had most recently been playing for Ashton Athletic in the North West Counties Football League.
He had also taken to the field for Runcorn Linnets and FC United of Manchester, as well as being capped by England Schoolboys.
FC United of Manchester’s academy manager Tom Conroy said at the time: “Technically, Sam was one of the best academy players we have ever had.
“That was proven when he was successful in England schoolboy trials, earning caps for his country.
“Sam is always spoken about to future academy players as a perfect example of the type of player we want at the club.
“This is not only with regards to the standard of footballing ability, but the type of person he was – kind, polite, hard-working and professional.
“He will be sadly missed, and I would like to pass my love and condolences to Sam's family.”
A tribute released by his family read: “Our beautiful son was tragically taken away from us on Sunday, April 10.
“A much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend to many, we will never, ever forget you Sam and will love you forever.
“Rest in peace sweet angel, love Mum, Dad and Amy xx.”
Hodgson appeared before Liverpool Crown Court dressed in a black shirt and trousers, and was supported in court by family.
The public gallery was also filled with friends and family members of Mr Harding.
It was heard that Hodgson had previously indicated a guilty plea in the lower court, but had not been formally arraigned.
The 23-year-old spoke only to plead guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
Judge Neil Flewitt stressed that the case could not be dealt with this morning, as the court listing would not have allowed for sufficient time.
The 23-year-old was warned by Judge Flewitt to expect an 'inevitable' sentence of immediate imprisonment for a 'significant period of time'.
Hodgson has been released on unconditional bail until the sentencing, which will take place at Liverpool Crown Court on December 19.
