AN ‘award-winning’ restaurant will be opening in one of Warrington’s most iconic buildings.
Signs are in place outside of The Cottage Indian Restaurant revealing that the new eatery will open in December.
The name and cuisine are yet to be confirmed.
It comes after the Warrington Guardian reported that the future of The Cottage was uncertain following its ‘temporary closure’.
Last month, a number of diners turned up at the long-standing restaurant to find it locked up, despite them receiving booking confirmation.
And on Google, the Church Street restaurant, which is based in one of the town’s most well-known and beloved landmark Cromwell’s Cottage, still shows as being ‘temporarily closed’.
Back in July, The Cottage received a zero-star food hygiene rating, with inspectors from the Food Standards Agency finding that ‘urgent improvement’ was necessary.
