A PERVERT was caught in possession of videos involving a person performing sex acts with dogs.

Samuel Reid, of Latchford, also had hundreds of videos of children being sexually abused.

The 21-year-old was charged with possessing indecent photographs of a child, three counts of making them by downloading them and one of possessing extreme pornographic images involving animals.

He admitted all of the charges before Warrington Magistrates’ Court, with the case committed to Liverpool Crown Court for sentencing.

The court heard how he possessed the depraved material between November 2017 and January 11 this year in Warrington.

Following a forensic examination of his electronic devices, authorities found a total of 266 indecent videos of children being abused in a sexual manner.

Of these, 194 were graded as category A – the most severe category of abuse which includes child rape.

Of the remaining 72, 41 were said to be in category B, and 31 were allocated in category C.

The search also revealed two videos described as ‘extreme pornography’ and involving a person performing a sex act with a live animal, namely two dogs.

The videos are further described as being ‘explicit and realistic’ and ‘grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character’.

Before passing sentence, the judge commented that the offences had passed the custody threshold due to their severity.

However, they felt able to impose a sentence which would not see the defendant go to prison immediately.

Reid, of Poacher’s Lane, was sentenced to 10 months in prison, but this was suspended for the next two years.

An order was approved to deprive him of his devices, while he was also handed a sexual harm prevention order and told he must sign the sex offender register.
