A community support worker has won a top care award.
Laura Cooper, employed at Belong at Home Warrington, has been recognised as the best in the region by winning the 'Dignity in Care' award at the Great North West Care Awards.
The judges praised her "passion, dedication, and performance," stating: "Laura is a compassionate and enthusiastic carer who consistently goes above and beyond for her customers.
"She creates personalised activities, listens attentively to their needs, and fosters a warm environment where everyone feels valued.
"Her positive attitude and unwavering dedication make a significant difference in the lives of those she cares for."
Besides Ms Cooper's win, two of her colleagues also secured finalist placements.
Sam Smith and Donna Reardon were nominated for the Palliative/End of Life Care, and the Home Care Coordinator awards, respectively.
The trio work at Latchford dementia specialist Belong’s domiciliary care service, Belong at Home, supporting the care village’s tenants, as well as those in the local catchment area, to live as independently as possible while enjoying later life.
Belong at Home Warrington area manager, Nicola Hewitt, said: "We are thrilled for Laura and her well-deserved win, and to have a further two nominations for the Great North West Care Awards is a massive achievement.
"Many of our team began their careers with us, starting out as support workers and then through training and mentorship, have progressed in seniority.
"We really are empowered with the autonomy to carry out our roles by putting people first and this enables us to provide the best possible care for our customers."
The Great North West Care Awards are an annual event that acknowledges those working in the care sector throughout the UK.
The winners from the regional finals will advance to the national awards in early 2025.
The award comes shortly after Belong's recent win at the 2024 HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards, where they took the title for Best Health and Wellness Service for their holistic approach to care.
