The Warrington community raised £2,881.40 for the Cats Protection Warrington Cat Centre.
This was achieved by 11 participants who bravely took part in a Firewalk event, supported by local cat-lovers.
Community Fundraising Hub Manager, Louise Lawless, said: "We are so grateful to everyone who took part or sponsored our participants, making the event such a success.
"We were also supported by stallholders, staff, and volunteers who helped on the night, as well as the incredible community spirit shown by the centre’s neighbours, many of whom came along to cheer us on.
"It truly shows how much can be achieved for animal welfare when we come together."
Among the Firewalkers was 72-year-old Christine, a long-term supporter of the charity, who raised £191.
She said: "I try to support various charities through monthly donations or fundraising.
"After losing my husband and the love of my life nearly eight years ago, I adopted two kittens from Cats Protection and named them Phillip and PJ after him.
"This year, I adopted another kitten from the charity and named her Mo (Mona) in memory of my mum.
"She’s now part of my home along with three dogs, three chickens, two guinea pigs, and eight rats.
"As you can see, I’m an animal lover."
Christine said she "felt a real sense of accomplishment taking on the challenge and even raised more sponsorship than I thought I would.
"I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more fundraising events to participate in."
The funds raised will directly benefit the Cats Protection Warrington Cat Centre.
The centre provides care and support for cats in need.
The Warrington community is invited to join the centre for their Christmas Open Day on December 8, from 11am to 3pm.
This event is an opportunity to support the centre, with no fire involved.
