AN inquest has been opened into the death of a 57-year-old man who was hit by a train.
Christopher Lock, from Birchwood, died on October 21 at Birchwood train station.
Cheshire Coroner’s Court heard how the reason for the inquest is due to an unnatural cause of death.
Senior coroner for Cheshire Jaqueline Devonish set an inquest date for March next year.
Emergency services attended the incident at around 6am on October 21.
At the time, a spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Birchwood station at around 6.10am this morning, Monday, October 21, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
