A BUSINESS in Rixton has been recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony.
Rixton Dog School was shortlisted as a finalist in the Dog Trainer/Behaviourist of the Year category in the Animal Star Awards.
The awards give recognition to humans and animals for the extraordinary things for they do for one another.
This year, there were more than 700 nominations in the awards.
At an awards ceremony last weekend, the dog school was highly commended, making it one of the top three dog trainers in the north of England.
Debra Adderley, who owns the school who Sue Palmer-Tarburton, said: “I feel like a winner just being in the top three and I’m super thankful to my amazing clients who allow me to do the job I love.
“We offer classes from puppy foundation to agility, rally and workshops and many options in between.
“Although some classes have a five-six month waiting list they’re so popular and there just aren’t enough hours in the day.”
The dog school was founded by Carol Richardson, with Debra taking over as head trainer and behaviourist in 2016.
It is Kennel Club accredited and boasts the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme bronze, silver and gold awards.
