ONE hundred ex-battery hens have been rescued in Warrington and are looking for their forever home.
Animal rescue charity Warrington Animal Welfare has appealed to find new homes for the ‘lovely hens’ that have been rescued from battery cages.
The 100 hens all need new homes and will be available for rehoming from Saturday, November 23.
A spokesperson for WAW said: “We're seeking ethical, loving homes for approximately 100 ex-battery rescue hens, available for rehoming on Saturday 23 November.
“If you or someone you know can offer a safe, caring environment for these lovely hens, please reach out to us via private message.”
To apply to rehome one of several of the hens you must provide the charity with your name, address, the number of hens you would like to rehome and a photo of your garden, enclosure and coop setup.
While the hens are in the care of WAW, the shelter is also appealing for donations of £5 per hen to assist in covering the costs of the major rescue.
“Thank you for helping these hens find a fresh start,” a spokesperson said.
