POLICE have been called to the site of an unpermitted caravan camp in Warrington.
Two caravans and associated towing vehicles have pitched up on land in Howley.
This is according to an unauthorised encampment log for Cheshire and Warrington operated by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The authority’s Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team has confirmed that caravans have been reported on land at the junction of Holmsfield Road and Howley Lane.
The group arrived yesterday, Thursday, and were still in attendance this morning, the log states.
It adds that Cheshire Police was requested to attend, and that the ownership of the land is to be determined.
The unauthorised encampment comes following another reported recently elsewhere in the town.
Two caravans and towing vehicles arrived last Friday before later leaving the privately owned site.
