COLLECTING cereal boxes for the foodbank turned into an enormous line of dominoes at a school in Warrington.
Bewsey Lodge Primary School set each pupil a challenge to bring in a box of cereal to donate to the local charity that provides food packages to those who need it most.
This was after a teacher was approached by a student, Brooke, with the idea that she had originally seen on TikTok.
Explaining the concept, year five teacher Victoria Leach said: “It was to ask everyone at school to donate a box of cereal to then donate to our local foodbank.
“The twist - to make it fun for the children - was to create a giant domino effect once all the boxes had been collated.
“We thought this was a fantastic idea to hold at school to celebrate during our Kindness Week.”
Rising to the challenge, all the pupils managed to collect and bring in their box of cereal which was then lined up in a pattern across the playground.
“We had great fun on the day and Opal class helped to set up the boxes on the playground before we invited the whole school out to watch the fun,” Ms Leach added.
After setting them up, there was only one thing left to do, watch them tumble.
An incredible 350 boxes of cereal were collected and donated to the local foodbank on Tanning Court in Warrington.
“Brooke and her family were able to rally donations from family, friends and local businesses including Heron Foods and Tesco which all went towards the massive haul collected.”
She added: “We would love to say a big thank you to all of our families and friends at Bewsey Lodge and to all those who helped make this a success.”
