THREE adorable kittens are looking for their forever home after surviving a long journey in the back of a lorry.

There were four that were found by a shocked HGV driver who arrived in Warrington from Durham in the north east, but one sadly died.

They were found cold, hungry and motherless, only days old, before they were handed to staff at Warrington Animal Welfare.

After caring for them for 10 weeks, the animal shelter, on Slutchers Lane near the town centre, is looking to fund homes for the trio, who have been named Mack, Lori and Eddie.

The shelter said: “These three stowaways arrived in Warrington cold, hungry and motherless, only days old after being unknowingly and accidentally transported all the way from Durham on a lorry.

“On discovering this precious cargo, the kindly lorry people turned them over to Warrington Animal Welfare, where they have been lovingly hand-reared through their most vulnerable weeks by veterinary professionals.

“During this perilous time, and despite best efforts, they sadly lost their fourth sibling.

“However, we are pleased to say that these three brave little orphans made it through, and at 10 weeks old are now happy, healthy and thriving in temporary foster care.

“As they have been hand-reared, they are all extremely confident, playful and affectionate, with loud purrs to match their big personalities.

“They are looking for loving homes where they can enjoy human company, a warm cozy bed, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space to run about.”

Mack is described by staff as being a the ‘bold adventurer of the group’, who loves to chase his favourite toys and snooze in your lap to recharge his batteries.

Lori meanwhile is said to be ‘courageous and smart’, who also enjoys a snuggle, either in your lap or with her brothers.

Eddie is said to be a ‘cheeky little chap’ who likes to play with his toy mouse and really enjoys his food.

He is the cuddliest of the three and will sit in your lap to watch the others’ antics, swiping as they go past in between belly rubs and chin scratches.
