A PERSON has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Warrington.

Firefighters attended the incident on Newton Road in Orford at around 10.30pm last night, Wednesday.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the home with a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire – which was accidental.

A high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke from the property and a thermal imaging camera checked for any remaining hot spots.

One casualty received medical assistance from crews until paramedics arrived to take them to hospital as a precaution.

Two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm attended the scene.
