A FARM site could be demolished to make way for new homes.
An application has been made to Warrington Borough Council seeking permission in principle for green belt development in Lymm.
Applicant P Wilson and Company Chartered Surveyors has proposed the demolition of the existing agricultural buildings at Spring Farm.
Once levelled, the land on Bradshaw Lane would be used to accommodate four replacement dwellings, along with associated parking and landscaping.
Further details as to the design and layout of the development would be confirmed at the technical details consent stage, should permission in principle be granted.
“However, the design and appearance of the dwellings would complement the appearance of local residential properties and be built to a high standard,” documents state.
“The dwellings will not result in a greater impact on the openness of the green belt and the purposes of including land within it than the existing development.
“It is considered the proposal for up to four dwellings on this previously developed site represents a small-scale development, which is appropriate given its position and would form natural redevelopment of this site.
“The proposed development would maintain, if not enhance the immediate and surrounding setting, as well as ensuring the vitality of this rural community.
“Developing a site like this would be an effective and sensible use of land in meeting the needs for more homes, while safeguarding and improving the environment.”
