WARRINGTON will mark Remembrance Day with a parade across the town this weekend – so here’s all the details you need to know.
On Sunday, November 10, Warrington will once again mark Remembrance Day.
The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Wendy Johnson, will join war veterans, religious leaders, and members of the armed forces for the event.
The annual event will honour those who have fallen in war and will start at 9.45am outside Warrington Town Hall.
At around 10.20am, the parade will make its way to the cenotaph via Spring Street, Palmyra Square South, Suez Street, Ryland Street and Bridge Street.
The serves will begin at the war memorial at 10.59am with the sounding of the ‘Last Post’.
A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am, marked by a bugler, before the cenotaph service and wreath laying will commence.
Then, at approximately 11.25am the parade will reform and return to the Town Hall.
A number of traffic restrictions will be in place on the day, and delays around the Bridge Foot area are expected.
Between 8am until midday, road closures will be in place including the entirety of Bridge Foot, with no access to Riverside Retail Park, Wharf Industrial Estate or Tanning Court Industrial Estate.
From 9am until noon roads around Queen’s Gardens will also be closed.
This includes Sankey Street, Legh Street, Springfield Street, Palmyra Square South, Palmyra Square North, Bold Street, Suez Street, Rylands Street and Barbauld Street.
Time Square multi-storey car park will be open all day, and parking will be free of charge.
