Lymm will hold its annual Remembrance Day Parade this November.
Lymm Parish Council announced the event will take place on Sunday, November 10, at 9am, and will be an opportunity for the community to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who defended freedoms and protected ways of life.
This includes members of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth, as well as the roles played by the emergency services.
In Lymm, the parade will also commemorate the eleven students from Lymm Grammar School who lost their lives during the First World War.
Their memorial, located on Limefield Avenue, will also receive a wreath.
The parade will gather on Brookfield Road, between Eagle Brow and Church Road, at 9am.
From 9.30am, uniformed groups and other participants, including Warrington Brass Band, will march along Church Road to St Mary’s Church for a civic service at 10am.
Everyone is welcome to watch along the parade route and join the church service.
The laying of wreaths and the silence observation will take place at 11am in the grounds of St Mary’s.
The parade will then reassemble and march back along the same route at around 11.20am, dispersing from Brookfield Road.
Road closures will be in effect from 9am; however, Eagle Brow and Rectory Lane will remain open to vehicles during the parade and service.
Lymm Parish Council is also looking for volunteers to help manage the procession.
Those interested can register online.
