PROPOSALS for the variation of a condition attached to approved plans to facilitate the use of a building as a children’s home look set to be approved.
Warrington Borough Council’s application for the site, on Catterall Avenue, will come before the council’s development management committee at its meeting on Thursday.
It proposes the variation of a condition attached to a previously approved application for the extension and alteration to an existing building to facilitate its use as a children’s home.
The application for the variation of the condition is being recommended for approval, subject to conditions, with delegated authority given to the development manager to make ‘non-material changes to planning conditions and reasons as may be necessary’ prior to the issue of the decision.
According to a report to the committee, the site is occupied in part by a two-storey, detached building fronting Catterall Avenue with ‘various single-storey side and rear projections’, and to the front and rear of the building are hardstanding and grassed space.
In November 2023, the committee approved proposed extensions and alterations to an existing building to facilitate its use as a children’s home and construction of bungalow to provide additional accommodation for children’s home.
According to the report, the condition to be varied is condition two, with the elevations plan on the original permission to be varied.
