THREE fire engines attended a fire on the motorway yesterday, Sunday.
Emergency services were called to the incident on M56 eastbound at around 11.15am.
It involved a large vehicle trailer on fire between junction 12, Runcorn, and junction 11, for Daresbury.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and a thermal imaging camera was used to check the trailer for hot spots
Crews also used the three fire engines, from Widnes, Runcorn and Lymm, to fend off two lanes of traffic while they dealt with the incident.
