A series of events to honour the Poppy Appeal will take place in Warrington during the coming week.
The events, organised by the Royal British Legion, will include the Poppy Train passing through Warrington on November 8.
The train, wrapped in poppies, will stop at Warrington Bank Quay at 10.42am.
It will be carrying a commemorative wreath from Glasgow to London.
On November 10, residents are invited to attend Remembrance Day services across the town, with St Mary’s War Memorial being the gathering point for Penketh and Great Sankey.
Ceremonies will also be held at Bridge Foot in the town centre and other locations.
On November 11, Armistice Day will be marked at the War Memorial with a service by the Penketh and Great Sankey branch of the Royal British Legion.
Veterans, local schools, and civic leaders, including the Town Mayor, will join to honour those who served.
Residents are also thanked for their Poppy Appeal displays, particularly the Methodist Church in Penketh and local veteran Chris Young.
Collection points at Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco, IKEA, Marks and Spencer, and Golden Square have been set up to continue supporting the Poppy Appeal.
The money raised goes towards helping today’s extended Armed Forces community.
People are urged to take part in the events and support the Poppy Appeal.
Further information on local events and poppy collection points can be found on the Penketh & Great Sankey RBL Facebook page.
Stuart Dicken, Poppy Appeal Organiser, Penketh and Great Sankey, said: "As we gather for these commemorations, we stand united in remembrance, ensuring the legacy of service and sacrifice is never forgotten."
