A TEACHER at a Warrington college is celebrating the publication of her debut novel.
Creative writing tutor Karen Kendrick’s first book, entitled Afterwards, follows the journey of a young girl navigating the afterlife.
Karen has been teaching at Warrington and Vale Royal College since 2018, and she has been described as an inspiration to her many adult students.
She said: “Publishing a book of my own has been a long time coming, and I am very proud of myself for achieving this.
“It is such a surreal feeling having your very own book in your hands.”
Karen is hoping her first book is just the beginning, and she plans to write two more instalments in the series to allow the adventure to continue for both her and her readers.
Tim Evans, curriculum manager for adult community learning at the college, said: “Karen’s dedication to her craft and her students is truly inspiring.
“Watching her guide aspiring writers in the classroom, and then seeing her achieve her own dreams of becoming a published author, has been incredible.
“She brings the same passion and creativity to both her teaching and her writing, and we are proud to have her as part of our team here at Warrington and Vale Royal College.”
Afterwards is now available to buy on Amazon.
