THE RETURN of beloved music festival, Neighbourhood Weekender, has been welcomed with open arms and is set to give a £2million boost to Warrington.
Attended annually by tens of thousands of fans, Neighbourhood Weekender has become a staple in the town’s calendar since it began in 2018.
However, many were disappointed when it was announced the Warrington-based festival would not take place this year and would be postponed.
After a year’s hiatus, the organisers took to social media on Monday to confirm that the festival will take place next spring – much to fans delight.
Now, Warrington Borough Council has welcomed the return of the festival, which has traditionally taken place in Victoria Park across the May bank holiday weekend.
“We’re absolutely thrilled that Neighbourhood Weekender is making a triumphant return to Warrington in 2025,” said Cllr Tony Higgins.
“After a year’s break, it will be fantastic to see this much-loved festival once again take its rightful place as one of the biggest and best events in our annual calendar.
“The festival has become a real highlight for music fans across Warrington, the wider region and beyond. It brings tens of thousands of people to our town, producing an estimated £2 million net economic value and showcasing Warrington as a vibrant and culturally rich destination.
“Since 2018, it has put Warrington on the music map and helped us to establish a reputation for staging large-scale events, featuring some of the biggest names in music. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our town and welcome visitors from far and wide.
“I’m looking forward to finding out what exciting acts will be gracing the stage next year, in what I’m sure will be another hugely successful May bank holiday weekend for Warrington.”
Neighbourhood Weekender will take place on May 24 and 25 next year, and fans can expect to see well-known artists take to the stage once again.
Although the line-up is yet to be announced, fans can expect well-known artists to take to the stage once again.
Noel Gallager, Lewis Capaldi, the Courteeners and Pulp have all previously performed at the Warrington-based festival.
