THE deadline for secondary school applications in Warrington is fast approaching.

Many parents will be facing the hard decision of which school to send their child to next September, 2025.

And for those deciding on a secondary school places, time is quickly running out, with deadline day set for this Thursday (October 31).

Warrington Borough Council has highlighted the deadlines, noting that those applying for reception classes in 2025 have until January 15 to make a decision.

Parents can express three preferences for schools and are encouraged to do so on their application.

To make an application, parents and carers need to register their details and then apply using the Citizen Portal.

Cllr Jean Flaherty, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We want to ensure all families are aware of these important deadlines so they can be prepared and submit applications for their preferred schools in plenty of time.”

Further information about how to apply and how places have been allocated previously can be found within information booklets on the council website.

There are booklets available for both primary school and secondary school admissions.
