TRAINS are being delayed and cancelled in Warrington ahead of rush hour after some lines have been blocked.
A fault with the signalling system between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central has led to trains being cancelled this afternoon, Thursday.
East Midlands Railway, Northern and TransPennine Express services have all been affected, with train being cancelled and diverted.
This disruption is set to last until 6pm this evening, and some services are attempting to find alternative routes where possible.
A spokesperson for Northern said: “Due to a fault with the signalling system between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central some lines are blocked,” a spokesperson said.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed.”
Customers are being advised to check before they travel.
