A POLLING station will be set up in Warrington for the Bulgarian Parliamentary elections.
Citizens of the eastern European country are set to vote on Sunday, and this includes Bulgarian citizens living in the UK.
In total, 112 polling stations will be set up across the UK and Northern Ireland, with one being in Birchwood.
This will be at Pentahotel, on Aston Avenue at Birchwood Business Park, with voting set to commence at 7am on Sunday and run through to 8pm.
A notice from the Bulgarian Embassy in London said: “Parliamentary elections will be held in Bulgaria on October 27.
“All Bulgarian citizens, including those residing in the United Kingdom, are thereby eligible to exercise their democratic right to vote.
“Following guidance from our Government, the Bulgarian Embassy in London has sought and received the official consent of His Majesty's Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, so that overseas elections can be held within the territory of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
“А total number of 112 polling stations are to be opened throughout the country.
“It has been deemed appropriate that one of these polling stations, intended to serve the Bulgarian community in Warrington, will be set.”
