PLANS for the erection of an agricultural building at Red Bank Farm in Newton-le-Willows have been submitted.
An application for the site, on Winwick Road, is currently ‘awaiting decision’.
In a planning statement, it says the need for the building has arisen ‘due to the lack of functional storage for agricultural machinery and implements’.
It states that the application site is located within the existing farmyard at Red Bank Farm adjoining an existing farm building.
It adds: “The proposed development does not involve any highway works and access to the development will be through the existing yard. The proposal will not increase vehicular activity to and from the site along the public highway.
“No amendments to the access are proposed as part of the development.
“No buildings, trees or hedges are to be removed as part of the development and therefore there should not be any ecology concerns.
“There is a clear agricultural need for the proposed agricultural building as demonstrated herein.
“The provision of the building will neither impact the public highway, residential amenity nor ecology.”
