SIGNS are being installed at the new TJ Hughes store ahead of the retailer’s grand opening this week.
The outside of the new TJ Hughes store in Golden Square is being assembled ahead it the shops grand opening on Thursday.
It was announced last month that the retailer would be opening in the town after closing its Widnes location.
The department store chain was once based in what is now The Hive on Sankey Street, before it closed with all other stores in 2011.
It will now occupy the unit that was previously occupied by Debenhams before it closed in 2021.
“Warrington is a fantastic location, convenient for many shoppers, and we believe this will be good for both the town and for our brand’s exciting future,” a spokesman previously said.
On the move, TJ Hughes COO Jason Harmer previously said: “Returning to Warrington, where we have a strong history, is something we are really excited about.
“We will be recruiting 25 staff for the new store, and this move is part of the broader growth of the TJ Hughes estate.”
Today, Tuesday, signs were spotted outside the unit, with a scissor lift parked in front of the doors.
TJ Hughes is set to open its doors for the first time in Golden Square on Thursday.
“The store will open at 10am on Thursday, October 24, with vouchers for the first 50 customers through the door,” a spokesperson said.
“From beauty to bedding, clothing to kitchen, and toys to Christmas, there will be something for everyone.”
