THE main pool at a swimming facility in Warrington has reopened following an earlier closure.

It was announced yesterday afternoon, Monday, that the main pool at Orford Jubilee Hub had been closed while 'essential maintenance works' were due to be carried out.

This follows the closure of the teaching pool at the facility last week as maintenance works also needed to be done to fix an 'issue with the moveable floor'.

Warrington Borough Council has confirmed that the main pool at the centre reopened yesterday evening at around 8.30pm.

This was after work was carried out to fix a burst pipe in the pool.

However, the Learn to Swim session for the evening was cancelled as more work took place to 'increase the water temperature' following a 'restart of the system'.

Providing a further update on the remaining closure of the teaching pool, a Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: "The teaching pool will remain closed while contractors work to fix the issue with the moveable floor, and the estimated completion for these works is the end of November."
