PEOPLE are being urged to ‘wear pink for peace’ to make the birthday of Brianna Ghey.

The initiative has been publicised by the Peace and Mind campaign set up by Brianna’s mother, Esther Ghey.

As well as keeping Brianna’s legacy alive, wearing pink also shows support for the aim of improving mental wellbeing among children and young people.

Birchwood schoolgirl Brianna, who was murdered in Culcheth Linear Park in February last year, would be celebrating her 18th birthday on November 7.

Peace and Mind UK said: “Join us on November 7, when we will be celebrating Brianna's 18th birthday by inviting everyone to wear pink for peace.

“The wonderful Peace and Mind UK community has grown across the globe, and your support and kind words mean the world to us.

“Our beautiful Brianna may no longer be with us, but we want to keep her legacy alive by showing solidarity to young people facing challenging times.

“On Brianna’s special day, we would love to see everyone wearing pink in her honour.

“Whether it is a pair of pink earrings, shoes or a whole outfit – we will be standing together in Brianna’s memory, symbolising unity and love.

“We continue to work tirelessly to fight for acceptance and improve the mental wellbeing of our young people, and with your help, we CAN make a difference.

“Your participation and donations would be very much appreciated. Please help us by sharing our posts with your loved ones, and thank you.”

The page states: “This year, on what would have been Brianna’s 18th birthday, we are coming together to support a cause close to our hearts—mental health and emotional support for young people and their families.

“Brianna's life was tragically cut short, but her memory lives on in the love and strength of those who knew her and in the wider community.

“We are raising funds for Peace and Mind UK, a non-profit that provides essential mental health support through mindfulness, planting seeds of resilience, empathy and unity in our schools and communities.

“To honour Brianna’s bright spirit and her love for the colour pink, we invite everyone to wear pink for peace on her birthday.

“By contributing to this fundraiser and wearing pink, you will not only be helping to keep Brianna’s legacy alive but also showing your solidarity with young people facing difficult times.

“Whether you knew Brianna personally or are simply moved by her story, your donation and participation will make a real difference.

“Let’s celebrate Brianna's birthday by spreading kindness, wearing pink, and supporting others in finding peace of mind in her name.”
