WELCOME to Behind the Lens, a feature that shines a light on the talented photographers in our Warrington Guardian Camera Club group.

This week, we’re talking to Pamela Robinson, who is originally from Warrington and lives in Croft.

She has only been taking photographs since retirement and she’s always the person taking pictures with family and friends.

If you would like to appear in our Behind The Lens feature, email heidi.summerfield@newsquest.co.uk

When and why did you take up photography?

I took up photography when I retired and was looking for an enjoyable hobby.

What do you love about taking pictures?

I love the artistic aspects of photography, getting up close to nature and being creative. I’m also the person that gets everyone together for a well thought out photo to record special occasions. By sharing magical moments in time, I hope to make people smile and capture the moment.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?

I love walking and take pictures in and around Croft village where I live. Dunham Massey National Trust is also one of my favourite places - the beautiful gardens and magnificent deer park are a photographer’s dream.

What is your favourite subject matter and why?

My favourite subject matter is botanical pictures. I really enjoy taking super macro shots especially of wildflowers and the flowers and bees in my garden.

What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?

I like seeing the other members’ photos and finding out where they have taken their photos, the different perspective, lighting and composition of images and how others have captured the moment. It's an inspiring group and very helpful. I'm always looking for that one great shot - it's sometimes very challenging but something I really enjoy.

If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?

I love the artist Monet and I'm inspired by his work. One day, I hope to visit his former home in Giverny, France to photograph his beautiful garden. It would be an absolutely amazing experience.
