DRAMATIC pictures show the severe extent of flooding across areas of Warrington.
An amber weather warning was issued for the borough on Wednesday and was followed by a torrential pour down.
The rain carried on late into the evening and the affects of the rainfall have been felt across parts of town today, as road closures have been put in place and popular parks have been inaccessible due to high levels of flooding.
Pictures posted on the Warrington Camera Club Facebook page captured the true extent of the flooding.
One area which was hit with particularly bad flooding was Sankey Valley.
Resident Maria Paholik shared photographs taken from the park today, with much of it under water.
The river can be seen pouring over onto its banks.
Meanwhile a picnic bench was swallowed up by the heavy amounts rain water.
Other areas that experienced similar levels of flooding included one area of Dallam.
Renowned for flooding in bad weather, Hawleys Lane was closed by Warrington Borough Council due to the amount of water that had collected along the road.
Pictures taken by Alex Black showed the flooded area underneath the railway bridge.
Alex pictured other spots of Warrington that had also been hit by the heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
And Orford Lane was also affected by the extreme weather yesterday.
