A ROAD in Warrington has been closed due to flooding.
Hawleys Lane in Dallam has been closed off to motorists after heavy rainfall saw the area near to the railway bridge flood yesterday, Wednesday.
A 'road closed' sign has been put in place and the council has confirmed the road is not open due to the levels of flooding currently.
Railway services have also been affected through the town due to the torrential rain that fell yesterday afternoon.
And other areas of Warrington have also been struck with flooding including along Orford Lane.
Flood warning alerts have been issued today, Thursday, by the Environment Agency, with two red flooding warnings still in place currently.
These are more serious than a flood alert and state ‘flooding is expected - act now’.
