OVER the past few weeks in Looking Back we have been telling the stories of Warrington's most famous pubs.
This week, a pub which many of us drive past every day.
Did you know that a young John Prescott trained as a chef and worked at the Patten Arms Hotel on Parker Street?
The Patten Arms' original home was opposite the old site of Bank Quay Station, close to Bank Quay Bridge.
When that station closed and reopened on the present site, the pub also shut its doors and moved to the location.
This is because The Patten Arms has always been traditionally regarded as the railway hotel and the venue once doubled as a booking hall for trains and a cab service.
