THE Great Sankey Artisan Market is back with a Halloween twist.

The event, taking place on Saturday, October 19, promises to be a hub of activity with more than 65 artisan stalls.

Alongside the market stalls, there will be live music, spooky face painting, and a trick-or-treat trail around the market, complete with free sweets.

A Halloween fancy dress competition is also on the cards for stallholders, with the winner earning a free stall at the next market.

Lisa Cowley, director of Independent Street, said: "We are delighted to be back in Great Sankey once again.

"Events like this are a great way to bring the community together while also showcasing the fabulous independent artisans, musicians, and community groups in the local area.

"We have an amazing Halloween-themed day planned for you, ensuring everyone is kept busy.

"Many of the activities are free and funded by us for you to enjoy.

"We look forward to welcoming you all and in turn boosting the local economy."

Independent Street, an organisation known for its successful events in the north, champions local independent businesses and produce, providing a platform for small businesses to showcase their offerings to the local community.

Food lovers will not be disappointed, with a variety of food traders offering an eclectic mix of cuisines.

This includes pulled pork, Greek gyros, handmade fudge, pies, sausage rolls, award-winning cakes, black pudding scotch eggs, spicy chilli sauces, samosas, bhajis, olives, mezze, Turkish delights and baklava.

There will also be locally baked bread, chutneys and sauces made from old family recipes, coffee, cheeses, and doggie treats from Greedy Paws.

Plenty of Halloween-themed goodies will be available (Image: Supplied) For those interested in arts and crafts, there will be a host of local artisan stalls selling unique artwork, gifts, metalwork, dog accessories, hand-poured candles, macramé, handmade jewellery, and textiles.

The event will take place in the outside space of The Woodlands on October 19.

It will run from 10am to 4pm, and on the third Saturday of every month.
