WARRINGTON Borough Council has provided an update on the future of the town centre site formerly home to New Town House.
New Town House was demolished in 2022.
The council has been asked when development on the site is expected to begin.
A spokesman said: “No date is set currently, the council and the owner of the adjacent land at Cockhedge Shopping Centre are focused on bringing forward a deliverable scheme.”
Furthermore, the council says given the central location, it is ‘likely’ that the development will comprise apartments.
“The number of apartments is subject to ongoing discussions between parties,” added the spokesman.
