AFTER only reopening recently a Warrington pool has temporarily closed again - with immediate effect.

The teaching pool at Orford Jubilee Hub is now closed, the council has confirmed, to allow essential maintenance works to be carried out.

This decision has been taken following the identification of an 'issue with the moveable floor'.

It has been confirmed that the teaching pool is the only pool at the hub affected, and the main pool will remain open as usual.

This comes after both pools at the Hub were forced to close for a month in August as work was carried out to replace the swimming pools’ pumps and filters.

It only recently was reopened to the public on September 23.

A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson addressed the latest closure, adding: "An assessment will now be carried out on the level of work required and timescales, and once this is completed, an update will be provided to all customers.

"All customers who are due to have swim classes in the pool in the coming days are being contacted by the LiveWire team to inform them of the closure."
