TWO town centre restaurants have been recognised at the Taste Cheshire Awards.
Pendergast’s Steakhouse and Vandal, both in Warrington town centre, won awards for their commitment to high-quality food and service.
Pendergast’s Steakhouse, on Cairo Street, bagged a silver award for Best Large Restaurant and were also finalists for Best Newcomer.
Meanwhile, Vandal, on Palmyra Square, won a silver award for Best Bar and a bronze for Best Small Restaurant.
Laura Harvey, from Pendergast’s Steakhouse, said: "We’re fortunate to have so many wonderful dining options right here in Warrington.
"When people dine local, it’s more than just a meal—it’s a way to strengthen our community and keep our local businesses thriving.
"We were delighted to win an award alongside Vandal.
"Warrington has an up-and-coming dining scene, and we are honoured to have this recognition after twelve months of trading and are so proud of our team for their achievements and hard work."
Ms Harvey also highlighted the affordability and variety of dining options at Pendergast’s, noting the two courses for £15.99 all day on Wednesday and Thursday, which includes their signature steak sandwich, as well as the £35 per person bottomless brunch every Saturday.
The restaurant also hosts live entertainment every Saturday evening.
Vandal’s Jenny Carey echoed Ms Harvey's sentiments, expressing pride in their team and the recognition they received at the awards.
Ms Carey said: "We are so delighted to have received these awards; our team work tirelessly to ensure we are providing the best food, drinks, and hospitality, so it feels great to be recognised.
"We are so proud of the whole team.
"These awards have always been very Chester heavy, and it’s absolutely brilliant to see a number of Warrington businesses being nominated this year.
"It's so important to support the businesses in our own town, especially at the moment where the industry is struggling across the board."
Vandal, led by owner and head chef Matthew Carey, has carved a niche for itself with its focus on small plates and 'cooked to perfection' steaks.
Their bar also offers a selection of wines and cocktails, with bartenders known for their expertise and creativity.
Vandal’s menu includes a £7.50 lunch and £12 pre-theatre menu, along with an all-day bottomless brunch on a Friday and a live DJ every Saturday from 1-5pm.
