CHILDREN'S drawings are set to become road signs at a firm in Warrington.
Over the summer, Sellafield Ltd invited children of employees, contractors, and the community to create safety road signs for the Sellafield site in Birchwood.
The 238 submissions were inspired by the theme 'Sam the Snail' and aimed at encouraging safe driving on the nuclear firm.
The contest received an enthusiastic response, with 238 artworks submitted.
Judges, including Sellafield Ltd chief executive Euan Hutton and Suzanne Pender from the Sellafield Family Network, had the task of choosing the winners.
In the 0-6 age category, six-year-old Remi was declared the winner, while nine-year-old Emily won the 7-12 age category.
The judges also created a shortlist of 20 snails, from which employees voted for six-year-old Ivy as their People's Vote winner.
All three winners shared the inspiration behind their designs.
Remi said: "I'm excited for my picture to be a road sign at Sellafield so that other people and my Mammy and Daddy can see it when they go to work."
Emily said: "I came up with the drawing because in the area where my mum works, she said there's quite a few builders, so I thought; why don't I do my snail wearing all the builder outfits."
Ivy said: "I like drawing cartoon characters using YouTube videos 'How to draw-step-by-step.' Thank you for everyone that voted for my Sam the Snail."
Their designs will now be turned into road signs on the Sellafield site, and traffic stickers at Hinton House in Warrington.
