A POPULAR Oktoberfest festival will be taking place in Warrington this month for the 27th time.

Warrington Rotary Club will be holding its annual Oktoberfest celebration in Parr Hall, taking place across three days.

Starting with just a few casks of ale, the celebration has now evolved into a booming festival and this year is its 27th year.

Previously, the event has helped raise more than £400,000 for charities and community organisations, including foodbanks in Warrington, Sandy Lane Nursery School and Youth Zone.

The event is now a staple in the town's event calendar and is organised by Warrington Rotary Club.

A variety of drinks will be available to buy, including more than 70 casks of beer and lager, and a gin and fizz bar.

But it’s not just booze to look forward to, as there’s an exciting music line-up too including Bohemian Kings on Friday and Red River Band on Sunday.

The Oktoberfest festival will take place at Parr Hall between October 24-26 from 5.30pm, and tickets are on sale now.
