A MAJOR route linking Warrington to the motorway network is set for more closures and a temporary 20mph limit.
Warrington Borough Council has published a Road Traffic Regulation Act notice for the A49 Winwick Link Road and Highfield Lane.
This will include a prohibition of driving, clearway and 20mph speed limit for a temporary period.
This will be on the A49 Winwick Link Road southbound, from junction 22 of the M6, to the A49 Newton Road northbound, and on the entire length of Highfield Lane.
The order will be effective from November 18 for five weeks, between 7pm and 5am, as and when signed on site.
Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works.
A diversion has been drawn up which will take motorists on an alternative route via the A572 Newton Road, A572 Southworth Road, A49 Mill Lane, A49 Winwick Road and A49 Newton Road.
A council spokesman said: “The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.”
