BUNCHES of flowers will be handed out on the streets of Woolston next Wednesday.

Members of staff from the business will be aiming to brighten up peoples’ week as part of the international ‘Petal It Forward’ campaign.

They will be joining florists across the globe as part of a random acts-of-kindness effort organised in response to data showing the positive emotional benefits of flowers.

University research found that not only do flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and a long-term positive effect on moods, but they are just as good to give as they are to receive.

With this data in mind, La Beau Fleurs is not only spreading happiness to lucky Woolston residents who receive the flowers but giving them the chance to Petal it Forward and spread happiness to others - an extra flower bouquet to share with a loved one, co-worker or even a stranger.

We see the positive impact day in and day out when we make our flower deliveries,” said Rachel Peers, owner of La Beau Fleurs.

“People love to get flowers ‘just because’ so we wanted to create random smiles within our valued community and give people the chance to do the same for someone else.

“The impact of giving or receiving flowers is powerful and memorable.

“It can turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one.”

The La Beu Fleurs team and their Petal It Forward happiness ambassador team will give away flowers to people on the street.

After receiving their flowers, recipients are asked to spread the happiness by gifting their second bouquet and sharing their happiness on social media using #petalitforward.
