THREE people have been arrested by police over the theft of items worth more than £100 from a town centre shop.

Cheshire Police has confirmed that officers in Warrington were alerted to shoplifting from Waterstones yesterday afternoon, Monday.

Three people were later arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop in relation to the Golden Square Shopping Centre store.

One of the three suspects was located through the use of CCTV cameras installed in the town centre.

The force’s Warrington Police team said: “Our own PCSO Spruce was in the thick of it on Monday afternoon.

“He responded to a report of theft of Manga collectable figures to a value of more than £100 from Waterstones in the mall.

“He was able to direct officers to a man and woman who were soon arrested. A third man was soon located by a CCTV operator and also arrested.

“If you give up, that is when the game ends.”
