A CONTESTANT from Warrington is among the housemates on the new line up of Big Brother 2024.

The highly anticipated new series aired on ITV last night, Sunday, and among the 16 housemates entering the newly furnished Big Brother House was Lily Benson from Warrington.

Already being branded an ‘icon’ by viewers of the show on X, in her opening VT for the show, the 20-year-old said: “I am Lily, I am 20 years old, and I am from Warrington.

“In the Big Brother House I am looking forward to living without parents, cause I have never lived without a parent.”

Hinting that she may not be a wallflower during her time in the house, she continued: “If you asked my mum, she would say I am like a cause for concern, because I leave the oven on and sometimes, I leave the bath running.”

Lily also revealed that she currently works in a Chinese takeaway which she ‘loves’ because of the ‘free food’ – especially the salt and pepper chicken and chips.

“I plan to work there for the rest of my life,” she added.

Also exposing the dating scene in her hometown, she said: “Being single in Warrington isn’t the best.

“They’re all dressed in Nike tracksuits and its absolutely angin’…but I will kiss them.”

One viewer said: “Lily wanting to work at the Chinese for the rest of her life, an icon I fear.”

Meanwhile another speculated on the brewing romance between her and another northern BB contestant, 23-year-old Khaled from Manchester.

Another fan said: “Lily leaves the oven on and the bath running. She is also a Chinese takeaway worker and plans to work there for the rest of her life. I’m so f*cking obsessed. Where did they find these queens?”

A well wisher also took to Facebook to express her ‘pride’ for Lily’s entrance into the house.

She said: “My little lily pad in the big brother house, and I can tell you she did a list in January, on it was big brother, then every day she walked around the house in heels practising walking into the big brother house.

“She really worked hard to get into the house. She will thrive in the storage area, in truth I’s looking better than her bedroom situation.”

“So so so so so Proud of lily tonight,” she added.
