THREE fire crews rushed to the scene of a vehicle on fire on the M6 in Warrington.
Fire engines were dispatched from Lymm, Warrington and Birchwood to the northbound carriageway between junction 21, Warrington and junction 21A at around 3.45pm this afternoon, Friday.
This was due to a van catching fire after its breaks had overheated, Cheshire Fire Service confirmed.
A spokesperson said: "The fire was out on arrival but crews used a hose reel jet to cool the vehicle. A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the situation."
One lane was closed along the motorway while emergency services attended to the incident.
