A RESCUE operation took place late last night, Thursday, to free a trapped dog.
Firefighters were called to the incident on Allen Avenue in Culcheth at around 10.10pm.
They found that a Yorkshire Terrier had become stuck between a wall and bushes.
Crews set up lighting and a short extension ladder before using a saw to remove some of the bush and concrete blocks.
They were then able to reach the dog who was safely returned to its owner.
One fire engine from Birchwood attended.
