A Warrington engineering company has opened a second office in Barrow.
BGEN, a UK engineering company, has expanded its operations in Barrow-in-Furness with the opening of a new office.
The company, which specialises in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation, has made the move to support its growth plans and cater to the needs of its clients.
The expansion comes as BGEN,, based at Centre Park looks to capitalise on opportunities with BAE Systems and support customers across various industries, including energy, manufacturing, and nuclear.
The new office will be located at Trinity Enterprise Centre and will focus on engineering, design, and project management.
This will add to the existing office's expertise in electrical, installation, and instrumentation works.
Businesses in the area will now have access to advice and support on various aspects of the project cycle, including engineering, design, project controls, planning, procurement, risk management, construction methodology, health and safety, quality, environment, and sustainability.
Glyn Shawcross, engineering and design director at BGEN, said: "We’re expanding our operations in Barrow-in-Furness to help service a number of client requests.
"As we expand in the area, we have a firm commitment to recruit locally, and we will also expand our support of schools, colleges, and community initiatives."
The company's expansion in the area is not limited to business operations.
BGEN has pledged to increase its support for local schools, colleges, and community initiatives.
Already a sponsor of Barrow Raiders, including the main commercial sponsor of the club’s Raiders Girls side, the company is actively seeking sponsorship opportunities with other sports clubs.
BGEN is also looking to partner with initiatives such as charities and food banks as part of its ESG plan in the area.
This plan will include collaborations with schools and colleges to help future generations understand the role of engineering in the world and attract more people to the profession.
