TRAFFIC chaos is being reported in south Warrington ahead of rush hour after the closures of the town’s swing bridges.
The A50 Knutsford Road swing bridge, the A49 London Road swing bridge and A5060 Chester Road swing bridge were all closed this afternoon, Tuesday.
Traffic Warrington took to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm that the bridges were closed this afternoon at around 3pm.

A5060 Chester Road Swingbridge will close to traffic in about 35 minutes, then A49 London Road and A50 Knutsford Road bridges.

The bridges have since re-opened for vehicles, but residual traffic now stretches back into the surrounding areas ahead of rush hour later this afternoon.
Long delays remain, especially through Stockton Heath.
