A charity is hosting a networking event to help businesses prioritise mental health.
Warrington-based health and social care charity, Making Space, has organised the event, named ‘3 Minutes to Save Workplace Mental Health,’ in support of World Mental Health Day, which is on October 10.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 16, from 5pm to 7pm at The Village Hotel, Warrington.
Attendees will have the chance to hear a series of 'engaging' three-minute talks on key mental health topics, followed by a Q&A session.
The speakers will include Emma Morgan, partner at Shoosmiths in Manchester, who will discuss employers' responsibilities and legal protections for employees’ mental health, alongside tips for managing difficult conversations.
Natalie Bargery, corporate fundraising lead at Making Space, said: "At Making Space, we believe in fostering a workplace culture where open conversations about mental health are encouraged, and support is always available.
"With 15 per cent of UK workers experiencing mental health challenges and related absences rising, creating a supportive work environment is vital for both personal and professional wellbeing.
"The event aims to give employers practical tools to support their own and their employees’ mental health."
While the event is free to attend, participants are encouraged to make a voluntary donation when reserving their ticket.
