TWO people have been arrested by police over the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of painkillers.
Cheshire Police has confirmed that officers were alerted to the theft of Nurofen, Voltarol and 4head products from Poundland in Warrington town centre on Friday.
Suspects were caught up with ‘trying to make a hasty escape’ at Warrington Bus Interchange.
Officers arrested the pair on suspicion of theft from a shop and recovered medication worth in excess of £300.
The force’s Warrington Police team said: “While on patrol in the town centre, Inspector Hillyard PC Culleton arrested two for shoplifting.
“This came following reports of attempts to steal from Poundland.
“The pair were later found in the bus station trying to make a hasty exit with more than £300 worth of stolen Nurofen products.”
