A SITE manager from Warrington has been recognised for his role in overseeing  a housing development in the town.

Ryan Miller, who works for Castle Green Homes, has been recognised for his work at Willow Fields in Great Sankey.

He has been highly commended in the Local Authority Building Control North West Building Excellence Awards 2024.

Ryan said: “I’d had a burning desire to reach this level as I’d been part of award-winning sites as an assistant site manager.

“It makes it even more of an achievement to have been recognised in the awards in my hometown and by Warrington Borough Council and the LABC.”

Ryan’s grandad was an electrician and he wanted to follow in his footsteps by working in the construction industry.

He has been a site manager since 2021 and in January he was promoted to a senior site manager.

On a typical day, Ryan oversees 50 to 60 people working on phase two of Bridgewater View – a development in Daresbury which he is now overseeing.

“We have some really outstanding sub-contractors and suppliers who help make achievements like this possible,” he said.

“Communication and team morale are important. You need to get to know people and how to bring the best out of them, ensuring they know what’s expected of them and that they’re following our procedures and health and safety regulations so that we hand over the best possible product to our homeowners.”

Ryan believes the award recognition will offer reassurance to customers.

He explained: “Customers know construction of their home is being overseen by someone who more than cares. Communication is key whether it’s over a cup of coffee in person, over the phone or on email – it’s when customers don’t know what’s happening or what you’re doing about an issue that problems can occur.”
