A WARRINGTON mental health hospital manager is celebrating 25 years of service.

Last week, leading mental health and social care charity Alternative Futures Group (AFG) took the opportunity to celebrate its incredible staff who make a difference each day.

This was in light of Professional Care Workers Week and to honour its workforce, the charity invited nearly 40 staff members to a long-service lunch at Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool.

Carol Naylor, a registered manager at AFG’s Lea Court Independent Hospital in Dallam, was one of the staff members who was celebrated at the event.

She has progressed through several roles including clinical team leader and senior operations manager, where she helped AFG to grow and develop new patient pathways.

She now manages a team of more than 40 nurses and support workers.

Talking about her job, Carol said: “No two days are the same. You get to meet some extraordinary people and help them on their journey.

“Recognising that everybody has unique needs is extremely important, so we can support our patients to achieve positive outcomes, regain control of their recovery, so they can move on and live fulfilled lives.”

Since joining AFG, Carol has earned a Diploma and Degree in Psychosocial Intervention, along with qualifications in rehabilitation, leadership and management.

Kirsty Murphy, chief people officer and chief operating officer at AFG, said: “The number of staff members who stay with us for over 10, 15, or even 20 years is a testament to the rewarding and impactful work we do at AFG.

“It reflects not only the dedication of our team but also how much we value our staff and the people we support.”
